About FirewallDNS

FirewallDNS is a DNS firewall that blocks malware, phishing and risky new domains at the network level, built for homes, businesses and the managed service providers who look after them. This page explains who we are and how we work.

Why we built a DNS firewall

Almost every attack on the internet needs DNS at some point: a phishing link needs a domain to load, malware needs a domain to download its payload and to reach its operators. Blocking those lookups is one of the simplest and cheapest ways to stop threats before they reach a device. Yet many small organisations and households have no DNS protection at all, either because enterprise tools are too complex or because they are priced for large companies.

FirewallDNS aims to make network-level DNS protection simple to deploy and simple to price: register your IP address, point your router at us, and pay a flat price per device.

Built for MSPs and the customers they serve

Many small businesses get their IT from a managed service provider. FirewallDNS is designed around that relationship. An MSP administrator adds customers, configures their filtering and invoices them, while each customer sees only their own settings and cost. The same service is also available directly to households and businesses that manage their own networks.

    How the service works

FirewallDNS runs a closed DNS resolver. It only answers queries from IP addresses that customers have registered in the dashboard, and ignores everyone else. Each registered network has its own filtering settings, covering malware, phishing, newly registered domains, content categories and custom allowlists and blocklists. Query logs show customers what was allowed and blocked. Our feature pages describe each protection in detail.

    What we believe in

We prefer plain explanations to marketing claims. Our feature pages describe what each protection does and also what it cannot do, because a DNS firewall is one layer of security, not a complete solution. We publish free setup guides for more than twenty-five router, firewall and server platforms, because a protection that is hard to set up does not protect anyone.

    • Honest descriptions of what DNS filtering can and cannot do
    • One transparent price per device
    • Each customer sees only their own data
    • Free, detailed setup documentation for common network equipment

    Where we operate

Our DNS infrastructure is located in [VERIFY: server locations and hosting providers]. Customer data is processed in line with the GDPR; our privacy and GDPR pages explain the details. [FILL IN: countries or regions where the service is sold]

Our approach to building the product

We build FirewallDNS in small, tested steps. New protections are introduced only when they work reliably, and our documentation says plainly when a capability is still in development. [VERIFY: describe your development and testing process if you want to make specific claims] We listen closely to the MSPs and customers who use the service every day, because their support tickets show where filtering is too strict, too loose or too hard to understand.

We also care about the small details that make a DNS filter pleasant to live with: clear block reasons in the query log, allowlist changes that apply immediately, and setup guides that match the menus people actually see on their routers and firewalls.

    What FirewallDNS is not

We are not a VPN, an antivirus product or a full secure web gateway. FirewallDNS does one job, filtering DNS, and is designed to sit alongside your existing firewall, endpoint protection and backups. Being clear about that helps customers build a layered defence instead of relying on any single tool.

    Transparency commitments

We do not publish invented customer numbers, testimonials or certifications. When we have independent results or certifications to share, they will be listed here with sources. [FILL IN: any verified certifications, memberships or independent assessments]

    Partners and customers

We work with MSPs, businesses and households. We do not list customer logos or quotes without written permission. [FILL IN: partners or customers who have agreed to be named]
